Reservation and Cancellation Policy
We accept reservations here online on our website preferably for the best rates. If you do not like using the online reservation booking system, do it by phone or by e-mail. We require a credit card for bookings and we may charge the card the day of booking. If for any reason your plans change and you need to cancel we require a one week notice. All cancellations are required to be in writing.

If you cancel the reservation less than one week before arrival your card will be charged the full amount of the stay.

If you are part of a large group that has booked more than one room, for a function or you booked a block of rooms for an event, our cancellation policy varies and you will be advised as to if cancellation is allowed at all, at the time of the reservation.

Check in time is any time between 12 PM and 10 PM at the latest. Our office closes at 10 PM.(UNLESS YOU ARE ON THE FERRY FROM USA and it is arriving late) If you have an emergency and cannot arrive on time please let us know before 10 PM.

Check out time is at 7 AM to 11 AM at the latest. If prearranged we allow late check outs to 1 or 2 PM for an additional $20. This is not always possible to do. We will try to accommodate you whenever it is possible.

Non Smoking Policy
We are a Non Smoking environment but we do make an area available for smoking, far away from any doors and windows. We reserve the right to charge your credit card for a minimum of 500 dollars for damages if your room smells like smoke. We have Zero Tolerance on this subject. Also it is against the laws and we reserve the right to press charges for damages to personal property.

Pet Policy
We do not allow pets.

Peace & Quiet
We expect total peace and quiet on the property after 10:00 pm. No outdoors allowed. The outdoor areas are closed after 10 PM. Only registered guests are allowed to be on the property after 10:00 pm. No unregistered guests after 10:00 pm will be allowed. Please consider the comfort & peace of your neighbors.

Reminder
By making a reservation with the Summers B and B you are accepting the above and the following terms and conditions:

1- Checking in is before 10 PM since the office closes at 10 PM. (UNLESS YOU ARE ON THE FERRY FROM THE USA AND IT IS DELAYED WE WILL WAIT FOR YOUR ARRIVAL)

2 - If you expect to arrive after 10 PM you must make prior arrangements with the office. There will be additional charges for employees to wait for your late arrival. This does not apply to the ferry delays as long as we are informed.

3 - If you do not contact us by 10 PM your reservation will be considered a No Show and you will be charged the full length of your stay. (UNLESS YOU ARE ON THE FERRY FROM USA).

4 - All cancellations must be made at least one week, before the date of arrival or the full cost of the stay will be charged to your card. We can only make changes to your reservations that you booked with us directly; By e-mail or by phone or online on our own website here. All online reservations must be changed online. We have no access to online reservations from here except our own website bookings.

Confirm all verbal communications by following up with an email to summersns@yahoo.com and state the summary of the conversation and insist on a reply so that you can be sure that the issue at hand has been taken care of.

5 - The phone number and or the e-mail that you give us when you reserve a room, must be valid to contact you during your travels and at any time, in case we have an urgent need to do contact you.

We look forward to meeting you and we are happy to make you restaurant reservations for dinner at some of our fine restaurants in the area. We can also show you maps when you arrive. And point out attractions.

BEFORE YOU TRAVEL WE THOUGHT WE WILL GIVE YOU SOME HINTS TO MAKE YOUR TRIP MORE ENJOYABLE.

DO NOT forget your passport you need it to enter if arriving from outside Canada.

Our timezone is one hour ahead if arriving from eastern USA. We are on Atlantic time zone.

BOOK HOTELS AND CAR AND TRANSPORTATION EARLY WE ARE ALWAYS FULL IN THE SUMMER.

Just a reminder to check the dates if you are coming or going on the ferry. A common mistake is made with the date of departure. Remember you need to stay here the night before you get on the ferry, if traveling back to the USA. When arriving on ferry make same day reservations.

DO NOT FORGET TO CONFIRM RESERVATIONS 2 TO 3 DAYS BEFORE ARRIVAL TO AVOID ANY MISHAPS.

BRING YOUR VEHICLE OR BOOK FOR A CAR RENTAL FROM ENTERPRISE RENT A CAR. TEL 902 742 55 59. Do it in advance....

Find out which is the best of your credit cards to use on the trip. Credit cards have different exchange rates and exchange charges so contact them and find out which is the best credit card to use in Canada. Your bank card from home will get you Canadian cash at our ATM machines in town.

YOU WILL NEED A WORKING CELL PHONE TO COMMUNICATE AND YOU MUST MAKE ARRANGEMENTS FOR A LONG DISTANCE PLAN TO USE YOUR PHONE INEXPENSIVELY IN NS. Canada. YOU CAN DO THIS BY CONTACTING YOUR PROVIDER CUSTOMER SERVICE BY DIALING 611 FROM YOUR CELL PHONE. Do it before leaving home.

THE SUMMERS ARE NOT HOT AND NOT COOL BUT STILL BRING A LIGHT JACKET OR RAIN JACKET.

ALWAYS A GOOD IDEA TO BUY TRAVEL INSURANCE IT IS NOT EXPENSIVE.

IF YOU HAVE A MEDICAL INSURANCE BRING THE CARD ALONG JUST IN CASE.

IF YOU EXPECT TO ARRIVE AFTER 10 PM YOU MUST LET US KNOW IN ADVANCE TO MAKE ARRANGEMENTS.NO NEED IF ON FERRY.

ALWAYS CONFIRM YOUR RESERVATION WITH YOUR HOTELS AND FLIGHTS AND SO ON. THAT IS A GREAT WAY TO CORRECT AND AVOID MISTAKES. IF YOU CANCEL YOU NEED 48 HOURS ADVANCE NOTICE.

Take the password for the WIFI and if you need a hair dryer or an iron you can find them at the front desk.
